FutureMakers Thought Starters Card Pack

Is New Zealand a Future Maker or a Future Taker? Thinking about the future requires information, imagination and the courage to be honest.

FutureMakers addresses the challenge and necessity of future thinking in New Zealand. This project is based on a partnership between the Institute of Policy Studies at Victoria University, Landcare Research and Secondary Futures and has brought together information and people to cast new light on the opportunities, challenges and big questions facing New Zealand over the next 20+ years.

These cards represent some of the stories and questions that have arisen as important for the future of New Zealand. They are THOUGHT STARTERS – neither the beginning nor the end of futures thinking. They don’t combine to make a picture – some contradict each other, some overlap, some unfold in different directions – there are gaps between them where many other futures are possible.
